Evaluation

To me, being evaluated means that I am being told how I am doing things. When I'm evaluated about something good, or I'm evaluated about something bad, I am learning how I am doing things through the eyes of other people. If I'm told how I do things is the wrong way, I learn from that. If I'm told how I do things is right, then I learn that is the kind of work that I keep up. Being evaluated also shows how I can become better for myself, and how I can become better for other people in my life.

First Nation presentation

I really liked Benjoe, and all the stuff he had to say. I say this because he understood how we think, and created a presentation that caused me to learn lots about him and his heritage. He also made everything entertaining by involving us, and just being really funny.

Presentations

I think our presentation went good. Nothing really went wrong. I did learn that you can't always rely on technology, because its useless when it doesn't work. I think the best presentation was Johnna and Lana's, because their prezi looked really great, and there was a ton of information all throughout it

Why we are learning about the earth's history

I think we are learning about all this time related stuff because these are the questions that need to be answered "How was our earth made?". I'm sure that has been asked countless times throughout the earth history, and I'm sure everyone will ask that throughout our own lifetime. So, I think that having a class to discuss that question is necessary for our development and understanding our our species and our planet.

Current event blog #1

What-The article we learnt about today is about the most recent Pope's resignation and the process of selecting a new pope.
Who-The people involved is most of the world, because the Pope runs the catholic faith, so that effects a lot of the people worldwide.
When-This happened several weeks ago.
Where-This is all happening in Vatican City, Rome. http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/286.
Why-This article's impact is interesting because I haven't fully known about all of this. The last time there was a new Pope was eight years ago, and I wouldn't have known about any of this back then. I think this mostly deals with political science, and history. The political aspect of this is the whole voting part and selecting, much like a campaign. The history aspect of this is all the things that have gone on in the past with all the different popes that have come and gone of the last hundreds of years, and how that seems to keep coming into play with how the cardinals select a new pope now.

Do I think God is real?

This is a subject I often wonder: where my faith stands. I know I'm in a catholic school, but there just doesn't seem like there is enough evidence to convince me there is a God. I do things like pray, and I used to go to church every now and again, but I just don't know if I can put faith into something nobody's even seen. This past year I went the summer camp Dallas Valley, and when a counsellor was asked what even wanted to do when he got out of university, he responded with "well, I'll see what God wants me to do". That is just too much to put in the hands of a spiritual being in which you don't know the existence of. However, I do respect the people that do believe in God and follow their faith. That takes courage. I do not have very strong faith, but I do believe there is a greater being out there that our minds can't comprehend

What I think of social so far

I had heard lots about Mr. Vendermin from other classmates who had him in semester one, so I was rather eager to see what his class was like, and I'm happy to say that I was not let down. Social is hands down my favourite class of the day. Some of my classes I may walk into thinking "well, I don't know where this could go", but social is the one I walk into knowing that the class won't suck. Not only is the learning substance great, but Mr. Vendermin makes the class what it it is. He's a teacher who cares about his students and listens to you when you talk. Mr. Vendermin is a fun teacher, and definatly is worth listening to.
